A 64-year-old man was sentenced for filming an 18-year-old train passenger
A 64-year-old train passenger who was accused by his 18-year-old female passenger of filming her with his mobile phone was sentenced to 6 months in prison, suspended for 3 years.
The Single-member Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki found him guilty of breaching personal data.
The act complained of took place at the beginning of the month during the train’s route from Athens to Thessaloniki. The 18-year-old was informed by another passenger who noticed the alleged video recording.
The young complainant (domestic) addressed the auditor, who asked him to check the mobile phone.
According to the case file, 7 to 8 videos were found that focused on the chest and face of the 18-year-old.
It seems that the 64-year-old (a foreigner) had hurriedly transferred the disputed videos to the “trash bin” of his mobile phone, when he suspected that the women were discussing his illegal action.
As soon as the train arrived at the New Railway Station of Thessaloniki, the Police were notified and the man was arrested.
The accused, originally from Pakistan, denied the charge, and in his apology stated that he did not videotape the girl, only the carriage and the scenery along the way.
