Two students of the school have been suspended for one hour for posting videos of content from inside the school complex on a social networking site (tik tok).
It is possible that the Directorate of Secondary Education, with its announcement, seeks to tone down the reactions caused by the punishment of a student at the Experimental High School of the University of Patras for mobile phonebut since yesterday, according to information from gnomip.gr, he has been dealing with another incident that occurred in a high school in the southern districts of Patras.
Two of his students school were punished with a one-hour suspension for posting on social media (tik tok) videos with content from inside the school complex.
Despite the fact that they were not “arrested” at the time of the video recording, they were nevertheless “pinned” by the post that was made later and came to the attention of teachers of the specific group.
Following the decision on the hourly dismissal, according to the same information, the Council of Teachers is to meet today to deal with the incident and take further decisions.
The announcement of Secondary Education
With reference to the issue of the Experimental High School, in Kastritsi, which “OPINION” highlighted on its front page yesterday, the Directorate of Secondary Education issued a statement in which it states the following:
- The management of the school acted within the framework of its responsibilities and in accordance with the provisions of the new institutional framework which concerns, among other things, the prohibition of the visible possession and/or use of mobile phones in schools (Government Gazette 5130/2024: Operational issues of school units).
- The Director of DDE ACHAIAS, within the framework of her own responsibilities, since there was a written report from a parent, had the obligation to request official information from the School Administration. However, it is clarified that written explanations were never requested.
- The implementation of the new institutional framework contributes decisively to ensuring the quality of the pedagogical work carried out in schools. All members of the educational and school community (DDE – Management of school units – teachers – students – parents – guardians – guardians) must contribute to its implementation for the benefit of students.
