“They called the police to take my child off the school premises. The child got scared and started crying,” the father complains
A serious complaint involving a ten-year-old girl as a victim in Chalcidice which was at the center of the new measures of the Ministry of Education regarding the abolition and mergers of departments, in schools it saw the light of day.
According to the complaint, the Directorate of Education decided to expel from the school, the Halkidiki anchoragethe 10-year-old student in order not to create a second section in the 5th grade of the Primary School.
Now the girl is invited to attend a school in a neighboring village, specifically in Portaria, which, as her family complains, is several kilometers away and there is no possibility of this happening.
The complaint
The father of the 10-year-old notes that the day after the consecration, the Headmistress informed them that the Director of Education ordered the child to go to school in Portaria, because the 5th Form section has 26 children and cannot break the class. “I told them that I want you to keep the child from starting classes. I want the child to study, not to go for walks. Then they called the police to take my child off the school premises. The child got scared and started crying,” the father complains.
“The child got scared and started crying. To keep the child from crying and to keep the police away, so that the children would not be scared, we took the child and left. I had to take my child to work that day, because my wife had gone to Moudania to complete the enrollment of our other child in the 1st High School at the school of Moudania” states the father of the 10-year-old and adds “now I am forced to leave work to take my child to Portaria school 8 kilometers away every morning. This cannot go on. I can’t even send my child on the bus. What parent would let a 10-year-old ride the bus alone, unaccompanied? I ask that the child return to the school in the village where we live or that his transport be ensured at the responsibility of the state. And I thank those who support me in this effort.”
Denouncing this policy, yesterday Wednesday, the Association of Primary Education Teachers of the region announced a work stoppage and mobilization at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Halkidiki Education Directorate in Polygyros.
