Covic: “The… soap opera is over for Petrusev, he is an Olympiakos player”

by

In his statements at a meeting of his association Red Star the Neboisa Covicpresident of the service group, referred among others to Philip Petrushevthe budget, the goals for this year’s season but also what is needed to get a permanent license from the Euroleague.

What he said in detail:

For Petrusev: “In the course of the season there may be departures and arrivals, but at the moment we don’t have anything like that in our plans and that’s why I’m ending the… soap opera about Petrusev. Petrusev is an Olympiakos player.”

For the team’s budget: “We don’t count trophies in the pre-season, but in May and June. We played against strong opponents such as Hapoel, Olympiacos, CSKA, Lokomotiv Kuban and Zenit. Great work was done and the atmosphere was good, without making noise in the media. The budget in gross amount for the players is 14,308,000 euros. We estimate that we will move to the level of 20-22,000,000 euros with all the expenses of the club”.

On his alleged statements about 26 Euroleague wins: “It was an attempt to harm us by the media. The goals are to defend all three trophies, KRK, ABA League and KLS – and make an attempt to place in the Top 10 of the Euroleague.”

About what Red Star needs to get permission from the Euroleague: “We have to convince the co-owners to make room for the expansion of the shareholders and this is not a very simple and easy task. It is not just a sports story, it has other elements as well. Of course, the result is important. The participation of Partizan and Red Star in the event is characterized by the good atmosphere in our matches. I’m waiting for someone to rate it and see. We’ll see how the complete reorganization of the Euroleague goes. There will be a lot of work. This should have been done earlier.”
