A shameful vestibule of the Leros refugee camp exists in Rhodes, as revealed by the SKAI autopsy at the scene and of the envoy Yiannis Souliotis.

The migrants, as recorded by the SKAI camera, sleep in cardboard boxes.

In particular, scenes that refer to the period 2015-2016, when the immigration crisis hit red. In Rhodes in the last month there have been increased migration flows. Unlike Leros, however, there is no reception and identification center.

As a result of this situation, the dozens of immigrants who arrive daily in Rhodes live and spend the night in the parks and squares of the island among the many thousands of tourists who still vacation there.

The regional governor, Mr. Hatzimarkos, in consultation with the mayor of Rhodes, have agreed to set up a temporary camp, to avoid these images. However, the process is delayed because the police and the coastguard are fighting over who will allocate force to guard the specific area.
