Search of the houses of two people involved and arrest of a 54-year-old man
OR Directorate of Electronic Crime Prosecution proceeded to the creation of a case file of spontaneous procedure, of a criminal nature, against a 54-year-old, while a case file of regular procedure was created against a 71-year-old, for pornography of minors, via the Internet.
In particular, according to COME ONafter digital analysis and utilization of data and information originating from foreign Authorities, in the context of international police cooperation, two internet users were identified in Greece, who, using specific electronic traces, gained access to an online application and received material of sexual abuse of minors.
The above was brought to her attention Athens Primary Prosecutor’s Officewhile from the further police investigation and after relevant communication with the internet service providers involved, the identity details and the place of residence of the people involved were ascertained.
Searches followed, in the presence of court officials, at the houses of the accused, where two mobile telephone devices, a sim card and an external hard drive were found and confiscated.
In fact, from the on-site investigation conducted on the confiscated digital evidence at the 54-year-old’s home, files (photographs) of sexual abuse of minors of teenage age were found in them, which is why he was arrested as part of the spontaneous procedure.
The arrested person was taken to competent Prosecutor and was referred to a main investigation, while the regular procedure file was submitted to the competent prosecuting authority.
The seized digital evidence will be sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for further laboratory examination.
