Traffic arrangements at the scene – According to initial information, there were no injuries but there is a gas leak
Overturning of a tanker carrying liquid gas occurred at noon on Monday on Schistos Avenue at the height of the cemetery in the stream towards Keratsini.
Traffic has been stopped from the junction of Schistos Avenue with Gr. Lambraki Street to Palaska Street and traffic arrangements are in progress.
According to the first information, there was no injury but there is a gas leak. Fire and police forces have rushed to the scene for safety reasons, but the transfer of the liquid will be done by a vehicle of the company that owns the tanker.
The Schistos structure is being evacuated
Due to the overturning of the tanker on Schistos Avenue and at the request of ELAS and the Fire Department, the evacuation of the Schistos structure was ordered for precautionary reasons by the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum and it was decided to move them to the Schistos Environmental Park.
For the transport, 2 ELAS buses arrive, while two OSY buses are also expected. 40 people are already walking to the park. Migrants will return to the structure after the alert ends.
