Explosive dimensions they take the incidents of violence with minors as protagonists, causing concern to parents, teachers and police officers.
One incident follows another while three serious ones were recorded in the last days in Athens Thessaloniki, Crete and Argolis causing intense concern to parents, teachers and police officers.
The worst of all, as a police officer who deals with such incidents every day, says to skai.gr, “the minors use brute force without caring about the injuries they will cause to their classmates”.
OR crime boom and consequently the huge problem that exists is also reflected in the official police data.
In the first 8 months of 2024, an increase in juvenile crime incidents has been recorded compared to the corresponding 8 months of 2023.
- From January 1, 2023 – August 30, 2023, 4875 cases were filed while the perpetrators were 6157.
- From January 1, 2024 – August 30, 2024, 7,180 cases were filed and juvenile offenders reached 8,978.
But the most shocking thing is the age at which young people show delinquent behavior.
As reveals:
- 26% of minors show delinquency between the ages of 8-14
- 55% of minors commit delinquency under the age of 14
