Immediately police officers of the DI.AS team. they went to the scene where it emerged that there was a person visibly beaten, in a state of amok, under the obvious influence of drugs or alcohol and therefore he was immobilized and taken to the local Police Department.
The first actions of the police officers were to ensure the physical integrity of the person and for this reason an ambulance station was called to the spot.
During the person’s stay at the Police Station, the aforementioned woman came, who, however, did not wish to file a lawsuit, while his details in the first stage were taken verbally as he did not have an identification document with him.
Later, it emerged that he is a foreigner, who in the previous days had been arrested for an incident of domestic violence.

Then the EKAV station, which the police had previously called, arrived, where it was established that his injuries did not require a transfer to a hospital.
A case file was filed against the foreigner and he was arrested for damage to foreign property, disruption of service, disobedience and refusal to take fingerprints.
On the morning of the same day (Wednesday, September 18, 2024) with the case filed against him, he was brought before the competent Prosecutor, tried in his own right and sentenced to -29- months of imprisonment (of which -4- months would be served , giving a suspension of -3- years to the remaining -25- months) as well as a fine.
He was then re-incarcerated at the Police Department, until he was transferred to a Penitentiary, as defined by law. However, during his stay in the detention center, a small-scale incident occurred with his fellow prisoners and he was immediately moved to a different area of the Department.
In the morning hours of Saturday, September 21, 2024, he was found unconscious by the police and an ambulance station was called, who pronounced him dead.
From the first moment, the competent Prosecutor was informed, who ordered the conduct of a preliminary investigation, during which – among other things – statements were taken, the area was searched by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, while the conclusion of the competent Medical Examiner is awaited.
Finally, a Preliminary Administrative Examination has already been ordered for the disciplinary investigation of the case. »
