From 8.30 this morning, Monday. new platform is working id.gov.gr with the aim of providing the most direct and efficient service to the citizens. Citizens can schedule digital appointments for the issuance of new press in a simple and friendly way identity or its replacement due to changes in components, expiration, wear or age.

With the new modern platform, appointments will increase and, by extension, the waiting time for the satisfaction of citizens’ requests will be reduced, with the availability of digital appointments starting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1. The planning was carried out in the context of the cooperation of the ministers of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou and Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis.

Through the id.gov.gr platform, it is ensured that the time interval between the appointments of the interested parties for the same Identity Card Issuing Authority is maintained, sufficient for one appointment to be completed before the next one begins.

In addition, the times and days of available appointments may vary, taking into account restrictions on the opening hours and availability of the Issuing Authority, by time and by job.

The procedure for planning the appointment in detail:

– In his application, the citizen selects an Issuing Authority based on his address of permanent or temporary residence in Greece, a specific day and time from the availability list, so that he can be served in person. His details are automatically drawn from the Citizens Register and the National Contact Register (EMEp). In the event that he has not updated his details in the EMEp, he should either update them on the spot or complete them by declaration.

– Upon completion of the submission of the request, he receives an email with the basic information for processing the appointment, as well as the contact details of the Issuing Authority he has chosen.

– The appointment scheduling request can be rescheduled or canceled or resubmitted, no later than one (1) hour before the start of the scheduled appointment.

– At various intervals before the start of the scheduled appointment, the interested party receives a reminder message from the platform to the email they have registered.

It is worth noting that especially in the case of loss or theft of the Police Identity Card, the citizen should contact the competent Issuing Authority by telephone, based on his address of permanent or temporary residence in Greece, and request by telephone the scheduling of an appointment for the issuance of a new Identity Card .

The platform was implemented by the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance of the Ministry of Digital Governance and citizens can log in using Taxisnet codes.
