A 28-year-old Afghan man was found fatally wounded by a firearm, near the border line of Idomeni, in Kilkis.

His death, according to the Police, is attributed to a criminal act, with the investigations of the Authorities being in full progress.

According to what became known, last Saturday night to Sunday EL.AS. was notified of shots fired, so an investigation began. The body of the young Afghan was found a short time later in a rural area. Information indicates that the victim had fatal wounds to the chest, while a weapon was found next to the body which is currently unknown if it was used by the perpetrator(s) or if it was possessed by the victim. It was seized and will be sent for laboratory examination.

According to the same information, the 28-year-old man is said to have engaged the prosecuting authorities in the past for robberies against foreigners and an arrest warrant had been issued against him.

Among the scenarios that the Police are considering is that the crime is attributed to settling accounts. The preliminary investigation is carried out by the AT of Paonia.
