The perfect recipe
If you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory, the crepes it’s the perfect solution! They are simple, tasty and you can fill them with whatever you like. Today I’m going to show you how to make a quick and easy one crepe batter that will impress you.
Materials you need
1 cup flour (preferably all-purpose)
2 large eggs
1 ½ cups milk (or plant-based milk if you prefer)
1 pinch of salt
1 tablespoon of sugar (optional, if you want sweet crepes)
A little butter or oil for the pan
Instructions
- Mix the ingredients: In a bowl, add the flour, eggs, milk, salt and sugar (if using). Beat it all together with a wire or a hand mixer until you have a homogeneous dough. It doesn’t have to be perfectly smooth, but make sure it doesn’t have large pieces of flour.
- Let the dough rest: If you have a little time, let the dough rest for about 30 minutes. This will help the crepes become more elastic. If you hurry, you can use it immediately.
- Heat the pan: Put a non-stick pan on medium heat and add a little butter or oil to melt. When the pan is hot, you’re ready to go.
- Baking: Pour an amount of batter into the pan (about ¼ cup, depending on the size you want) and swirl the pan around to spread the batter. Cook for about 1-2 minutes per side or until you see the edges start to brown and the surface is dry.
- Flip it: With a spatula, flip the crepe and cook for another 1 minute on the other side. Repeat the process with the rest of the dough.
- Filling and serving: When the crepes are ready, you can fill them with whatever you like! You can add chocolate, fruit, honey or even savory fillings like cheese and ham. The combination is yours!
