Two people wanted on European arrest warrants for homicide were arrested
The police officers of the Search Department of the Attica Security Directorate, in the context of a simultaneous coordinated operation with the Swedish Authorities and after exchanging information with the SIRENE Department of the Directorate of International Police Cooperation, located and arrested yesterday afternoon in Neos Kosmos, two foreigners, of Kurdish origin, a A 55-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, against whom European arrest warrants were pending from Swedish authorities for homicide and incitement to murder.
In particular, according to ELAS, the two arrested, along with 5 other people who were arrested during a simultaneous operation in Sweden, are accused of having organized and committed the murder of the 37-year-old’s wife last September in Sweden.
After an exchange of information between the Greek and Swedish Authorities, a special operational team of the Search Department was formed, which after a thorough investigation of evidence, located the 2 arrested persons moving in the area of ​​Neo Kosmos.
As noted by the Police, a number of mobile phones, tablets, documents and clothing were found and confiscated inside their house, from which information will be collected, which will be sent to the Swedish Authorities.
The arrested were taken to the Athens Appeals Prosecutor.
