The OLME has decided to refrain from multi-day school trips for the next two months as a warning, in order, as it states in a relevant announcement, for the Ministry of Education to resolve problems that arise on the sidelines of their implementation, while at the same time expressing strong concern for the ever-increasing phenomenon of juvenile delinquency .

The resolution of the General Assembly of the Presidents of the ELME of the country, in its recent meeting together with the Board of Directors, points out the resolution of problems and specifically “the lack of an integrated institutional framework that governs the excursions and the unfair targeting of teachers”. of OLME.

She then points out “her intense concern about the repeated cases of violence by parents and students against teachers. This situation is unacceptable. The Ministry of Education monitors the developments without intervening. In addition, during school trips, the phenomenon of increasing cases of student delinquent behavior is recorded with a geometric progression. A direct consequence of this behavior of some students is the completely unfair treatment of teachers by the state. Many colleagues have been arrested by the police and brought to court on charges of misdemeanor supervision of minors or disciplinary proceedings have been brought against them.”

The teachers demand “the establishment of an integrated institutional framework regarding school trips, the legal protection of teachers in the exercise of their duties and the payment of overtime and compensation away from home for accompanying teachers”.

Finally, they decided to proceed with warning abstinence from multi-day school trips (outside of programs) for the next two months, expecting the Ministry of Education to respond to resolve the above issues.
