The EFET was informed through the Early Warning System for Food and Animal Feed (RASFF), about the circulation in the Greek market of dried cinnamon bark, originating in Vietnam, in which the presence of the non-approved for this category was found of sulfur dioxide additive E220.
Also, the additive in question was determined at a concentration of more than 10mg/kg without being listed on the label.
Sulfur dioxide and sulfur compounds in concentrations above 10mg/kg are allergenic ingredients and can affect people who are sensitive to them.
Specifically, this is the product with a sales name ‘Cinnamon-Dried Bark’ and trade name “Sclavenitis”, in a package of 50.0g, with batch number Lot 2405300840 and a date of consumption preferably before 28/05/2026.
