A student is hospitalized at Agios Andreas hospital with meningitis – The doctors informed the school unit that decided to close for preventive reasons
The fainting of a student yesterday in the school complex that houses the 6th and 2nd EPAL of Patras is due to meningitis.
According to information yesterday morning during classes the girl fainted and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
The student is being treated at the Agios Andreas hospital with meningitis as revealed by the tests she underwent.
The doctors immediately informed the school unit which decided for preventive health reasons to remain closed.
The announcement of the School Management is as follows:
We inform you that following the information we received a while ago from the Hospital, to follow the prevention protocol and avoid closed spaces and contacts. We don’t have full information about what happened. We will keep you posted but the school will be closed today.
According to the “Gnomi” newspaper, the Deputy Governor of Health, Anna Mastorakou, states that in any case, the student’s classmates should also pay attention if they have a rash or fever and immediately go to the hospital.
