Navy ships are open today and tomorrow from 9:00 am. to 7.00 p.m., while on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The frigate has been moored at the PPA passenger station”Themistocles“the rocket ship”Vlachakos” and the submarine “Sailor” in order for the public to visit them, as part of the October 28th anniversary celebrations.
As explained by the commander of the “Themistocles” frigate, Lt George Gennisariotisin the show “Dekatianoi” with Giannis Pittaras and George Grigoriadisthe public can visit the naval ships, today Saturday 26 October and Sunday 27 October from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, while on Monday 28 October they will be open to visitors from 9:00 am until 4:00 in the afternoon.
The frigate “Themistocles” is 130 meters long, 15 meters wide and its draft is 6.5 meters.
“Looking at the achievements of the Greek ships during the Second World War, the warships, apart from the Aegean and the Mediterranean, operated in the Atlantic, they have participated in the Normandy landings, in the Indian Ocean. Their offer is great”, emphasized Mr. Gennisariotis.
