For November 22, the trial for the case of the Spartans was adjourned again, with 11 former and current MPs of the party accused of defrauding voters, Ilias Kasidiaris for moral complicity in the crime and a lawyer for complicity.
It is the second time that the process has been interrupted, as the party president Vassilis Stigas, the only witness in the case, who has spoken about Don Corleone and Greek mafia practices, was absent.
The president of the court spoke of a lack of respect for the court and proceeded to adjourn for a few hours.
Mr. Stigas informed the court through an “angel” that he was unable to attend as he had to be in parliament for the discussion of the Ministry of Development’s bill.
This development provoked reactions from all the defendants, including Ilias Kasidiaris, who had moved from Domokou prisons to say from the bench: “I have suffered terribly as a human being. I would have been home since February and because of this backlog they are not letting me out of jail. Let the witness come today to testify”
In addition to Ilias Kasidiaris, other defendants also reacted by asking for the trial to take place as their name is dragged out by a false testimony.
