Seasonal and contract firefighters held a new rally this morning at the Syntagma, demanding twelve-month work at the Fire Brigade and denouncing “an attack by the police forces, yesterday during their mobilization at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection”.
With central slogans “It’s time to take off the beige, disasters are not seasonal” and “Here and now permanence” the seasonal firefighters gathered from 10 am in the Constitution demanding the right to work as well as immediate hiring.
Unions and organizations were on the side of the firefighters after a call from PAME.
Among them are the food distributors of the electronic platforms “Wolt” and “e-food”, who have declared a 48-hour strike for today, November 1 and tomorrow, November 2.
The gathering of the seasonal firefighters was attended by, among others, the president of the SYRIZA PS Committee, Nikos Pappas, the general secretary of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, the president of Plefsis Eleftherias, Zoe Konstantopoulou, Stefanos Kasselakis, as well as MPs from opposition parties.
