A preliminary investigation and Sworn Administrative Examination will be conducted into the circumstances and causes of the accident that caused the death of one firefighter and the injury of another firefighter, due to the overturning of a firefighting vehicle, during a patrol, near the Kotsikia area of ​​the municipality of Mantoudi – Limni – Agia. Annas, in Evia, according to a statement from the Fire Department.

Today, Friday, November 01, 2024, noon, the P.S. 2088 vehicle of P.K. Mantoudi staffed with two Fire Department employees, during a patrol, overturned near the Kotsikia area of ​​the municipality of Mantoudi – Limni – Agia Anna, in Evia.

An injured firefighter was extricated from the fire truck, while the second, unconscious, was pulled out by firefighters from the P.Y. Istiaias, by P.K. Mantoudiou and P.K. Lake.

Both firemen were transported by E.K.A.B. ambulances. at the Mantoudi Health Center, where the death of the driver of the fire truck, Five-Year Obligation Firefighter Ioannis Paliovrysiotis, aged 54, was confirmed.

The second Five-Year Obligation Firefighter was transported by Fire Brigade helicopter, which transported him to the heliport of the “SAKETA” camp and was then transported by EKAV ambulance to the 251 General Aviation Hospital.
