Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will award the President of the United States, Donald Trump, the Nile Medal, the highest honor of the Egyptian state for his “significant contributions to the promotion of peace, and in the prosthesis of peace” Egyptian Presidency.

The Nile necklace, also known as the Nile medal, is the most important distinction of Egypt and symbolizes the unity of Upper and Lower Egypt through the Nile River. It is made of gold, decorated with pharaoh patterns and gemstones, and is awarded by presidential decree to heads of state and personalities who have offered excellent services to Egypt or humanity.

Among those who have been honored in the past with the Nile medal includes Nobel laureate Ahmed Zeuil, former head of the International Atomic Energy Service Mohammed El Barandei, writer Nagib Mahfouz, as well as Cardioligi.

At the international level, this highest honor is also received by former United States President Jimmy Carter for his role in the mediation of the Egyptian -Israel peace agreement signed in Washington in 1979, Queen Elizabeth II, King Hujani of India Narendra Monty, who was honored in 2023.
