For incidents and activist actions in Germany, the person who died in the explosion in an apartment in Ampelokipi was arrested, as it emerged from his fingerprints in the international database of Europol.

Both the 36-year-old dead man and the 33-year-old wounded man are accused by the anti-terrorist agency of participating in a terrorist organization. The 30-year-old girlfriend of the deceased, who had given the victim the keys to the apartment on Arkadias Street, is also charged with the same charge, according to the 31-year-old who appeared last night at the anti-terrorist police station.

The 36-year-old deceased, according to ERT, was arrested in incidents in Germany and thus through the police cooperation of the two countries, the bomber was identified. In Greece, according to police sources, he had a clean criminal record, and lived in Piraeus.

The bomb was one step away from finding its target

As the officers of the anti-terrorist staff estimate, the apartment on Arkadias Street was the terminal of the bomb, shortly before it was placed on the organization’s target.

THE improvised mechanism it had been built elsewhere, and was moved to the apartment to complete the wiring, but something went wrong and the fatal explosion occurred.

Next to the crater created by the shock wave, a rucksack was found which they had recently purchased and in which they would place the bomb.

The explosive used by the bomber was commercial, namely gelato dynamite or ammonium dynamite.

In pocket of the 32-year-old who was injured by the shock wave, her identity was found and thus the authorities knew from the first moment that she was marked by the State Security.

According to the anti-terrorist, so far investigations have been carried out in three houses and a carwhere they found and confiscated:

  • 2 pistols,
  • mass of digital evidence,
  • mobile phones,
  • sim cards,
  • wigs,
  • masks,
  • number of keys,
  • handwritten notes and
  • blueprints.

The authorities are looking for the organization’s goal

The counter-terrorist has focused its attention on blueprints and notes found after searches of three homes and a car.

It is likely that in the blueprints and notes they will identify the target where they would place the bomb that exploded in the hands of the 36-year-old dead man.

They must have planned, say the police sources, the route to reach the target and to escape afterwards. The dozens of keys maybe they will lead the authorities to the yafka of the organization, because the bomb was made in another place and transferred for the last details to Arkadias Street.

Also, mobile phones were found that were probably used in previous terrorist attacks, according to ERT, two unused mobile phones were found under the rubble in their boxes, with which they would have made the warning calls for the placement of the bomb.

According to police pyrotechnicians, the bomb consisted of five kilograms of explosives of commerce, probably ammonium, dynamite or gelato-dynamite.
