The Municipality of Athens presented today, Thursday (7/11), the Report of the Construction Control Department of the Construction Directorate on the condition of the apartment building in Ampelokipi after the strong explosion in the apartment on the third floor.

According to the relevant announcement, six apartments were damaged with serious cracks and breaks in the slab and masonry.

The most serious damage was found in three apartments on the third floor, while houses on the fourth and second floors of the apartment building were also damaged.

“Until the danger is removed, all the apartments located to the right of the axis of the staircase, as well as the uncovered space, are put out of use” added the Municipality.

“The Municipality of Athens informs about the results of the Risk Report of the Construction Control Department of the Construction Directorate of the Vice-Mayor of Urban Revitalization, regarding the explosion that occurred on Thursday, October 31, in an apartment building in the area of ​​Ampelokipi.

The report shows that the following apartments were damaged with serious cracks and breaks in the slab and masonry:

Third floor: three apartments where the most serious damages are found.
Second floor: two apartments with perimeter cracks in the masonry.
Fourth floor: an apartment with damage to the floor and masonry.
Until the danger is removed, all apartments located to the right of the axis of the staircase, as well as the uncovered space, are put out of use.”
