Its president Union of Judicial Officers of the Council of State, for the next two years, State Councilor Sofia Vitalis was elected, replacing the President of the Union for two terms, State Councilor Panagiotis Tsoukas.

In detail, the new Board of Directors of the Union of Judicial Officers of the Supreme Court, which emerged from the elections of October 30, 2024, was constituted in a House and is as follows:

  • President: Sophia Vitali.
  • Vice President: Christos Negris.
  • General Secretary: Konstantinos Georgakopoulos.
  • Treasurer: Irini Spanaki.
  • Member: Konstantina Skoura.

Curriculum vitae

OR Sophia Vitali was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is a graduate of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He was appointed rapporteur of the Council of State, as a graduate of the National School of Public Administration, in 1990.

He was promoted to the rank of deputy in 1997 and to the rank of State Councilor in 2013.

In 2001, he received the postgraduate title LLM de droit francais europeen et international des affaires from Pantheon – Assas University (Paris II), while at the same time he practiced at the Conseil d’Etat.

He was vice-president of the Union of Judicial Officers of the Council of Ministers and a member of the Central Law-making Committee.

He also served as a member of the Supreme Disciplinary Council of article 91 of the Constitution, president of the Secondary Disciplinary Council of PPC employees, a member of the Central Legislative Committee and a member of the Special Court of Article 86 par. 4 of the Constitution.

Finally, he is a member of the Association of European Competition Law Judges (AECLJ).
