Intensive thorough checks were carried out on fans by the police officers who had been allocated for the smooth running of the match and the prevention of sports violence and 6 arrests were made, in the context of operational planning of the General Police Directorate of Attica for the holding of a football match of the “UEFA Nations League” between the national teams Greece – England, last night (14/11) at O.A.K.A.

-3- young people were arrested for possession of narcotic substances, by the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes of Northeast Attica, the O.A.K.A. Police Department. and by police officers who were deployed outside the stadium and were in charge of the detailed control of fans entering the sports facility to exclude the introduction of prohibited items.

At the same time, they were located after an immediate response, and arrested -3- people, two of them using lasers and one who activated two smoke detectors during the match, by police officers who were responsible for supervising the fans in the stands and in the other areas through the facility’s closed circuit surveillance,

From regular patrols for preventive policing in the urban area where the fans were moving in the previous time of the contested match, he was spotted by the DIAS Team. A 56-year-old fan of the visiting team in the center of Athens was found to possess -22- hand smoke bombs and a case file was filed by the State Security Department of the Athens Crime Investigation and Prosecution Sub-Directorate for possession of flares.

The case files were submitted to the competent Prosecutor.
