Cores of fire and Revolutionary Struggle used such materials – Functionally the weapons identified
Pistols, submachine gun, grenades, detonators, quantity of dynamite and ammonia nitrate. Among other things, the anti-terrorist officers found these in the warehouse – yafka in the basement of an apartment building on Aglauridon Street in Pagrati.
How it was revealed
The yafka was revealed when prospective buyers of the warehouse together with the owner opened its lock and found the heavy weaponry. They called Immediate Action and police cordoned off the area.
In total, the police found:
- -3- grenades,
- submachine gun,
- -6- firearms, various parts of weapons, magazines and a number of cartridges,
- -25- detonators,
- -7.5- kilograms of ammonium dynamite,
- -3- kilos of gelato dynamite,
- -2- kilograms of TNT,
- -220- grams of gunpowder,
- slow burning fuse,
- -37- kilograms of ammonia nitrate,
- fake license plate and laptop.
Who does it allegedly belong to?
According to police sources, Yafka allegedly belongs to a terrorist organization that has been dismantled or deactivated. “It was locked in a very strange way, not like ours,” said a resident of the apartment building.
In 2019, unknown persons had broken into all the warehouses of the apartment building, except for the one that hid the heavy weaponry. The yafka of Pagratio does not appear to be connected to the bomb in the Vineyards and police have collected fingerprints and genetic material in an attempt to identify its owners.
According to ERT, the quantity, approximately 37 kilograms of fertilizer, in a barrel found in the warehouse – Yafka of Pagratiou, was the main finding that made the officers of the Anti-Terrorism Department to undertake the investigations, certain that it is a case of terrorism.
Through the fertilizer they can make ANFO, which has been used by terrorist organizations, such as Cores of Fire, O.L.A. and Revolutionary Struggle, while it is not something that the criminal uses.
The “revolutionary fund” is maintained and strengthened through robberies, but also through relations with the Greek Mafia.
