“His artistic imprint behind the lens remains indelible,” says the Minister of Culture in her condolence statement
Informed of the loss of Manousos Manousakis, the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni made the following statement:
“It was with sadness that I learned of the loss of Manousos Manousakis, who has been a tireless worker of the small and big screen.
Manousos Manousakis, still young, appeared in the cinema with two films that caused an impression for their time, “Bartholomew” and “Archontes”, a preface to the great work that leaves us.
He turned to television, where he deservedly established himself as a series director, with huge appeal.
The creations of Manousos Manousakis on the small screen were great successes, which was due to his unfailing professionalism, his knowledge, his experience, the high standards he maintained in their production, but also their original subject matter, with social issues that he approached boldly. Manousos Manousakis made quality television for the general public, without discounting his demands, but also without abandoning the cinema, to which he selectively returned with excellent creations. He guided many young artists with wisdom and personal interest, giving impetus to their rise. He worked harmoniously with his accomplished colleagues, which explains, beyond his popularity, the love and respect with which the space surrounded him. His artistic imprint behind the lens remains indelible.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.”
