Meeting for the protection of Mount Pentelikos, at in preparation for the next fire seasonwas held today by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias.

The meeting was attended by the deputy minister of the Greek Ministry of Agriculture, Evangelos Tournas, the general director of Forests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Evangelos Goudoufas, the Inspector of Forests of Attica of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Athanasios Reppas, the president of the Association of Municipalities for the Protection and Redevelopment of Pentelikos (SPAP), Vassilis Xipolytas and officials of SPAP. The minister pointed out that the planning and implementation of projects for the next fire fighting season must start now, so that in the spring everything will be ready for the best and most effective management of the forest fires that the country will face in 2025.

The president and the executives of the SPAP informed about the needs of the municipalities regarding the protection of Mount Pentelikos. At the center of the discussion was the course of the ANTINERO program by the Ministry of the Interior, the opening of roads and fire protection zones, the clearing of forest areas, reforestation actions, the redesign of the water reservoirs, the upgrading of the SPAP Operations Center, the cleaning and fencing of the forest Fasideri et al.
