Posted the Verbal Declaration sent by Greece to the UNwith which the allegations of Libya For marine plots south of Crete.

More specifically, Athens’s verbal decoration states:

“The aforementioned pieces are located within the Greek continental shelf/exclusive economic zone. They are therefore exclusively located within Greek jurisdiction, in accordance with international sea law, and do not violate Libya’s sovereign rights.

Specifically, the external boundaries of offshore areas “South of Crete 1” and “South of Crete 2” have been determined by reference to
A line of equal distance (midline) between Greece and Libya and in accordance with the agreement between the government of the Hellenic Republic and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the demarcation of the exclusive economic zone between the two countries, signed in Cairo on 6 August 2020.

Therefore, the Libyan side’s allegations, as reflected in the aforementioned verbal decoration regarding the above offshore areas, are unfounded, lacking any legal basis and ignore the fact that Greece has IPSO Facto and AB Initio sovereign rights on the continental shelf and its areas.
