A 22-year-old local swimmer has been missing since Saturday afternoon in Porto Rafti, while his personal belongings were found on a rocky spot in the area of Agios Spyridon.
According to an official statement from the Coast Guard, the Port Authorities of Rafina and Markopoulos were informed yesterday at noon about the missing person and since then investigations are continuously being conducted to locate him.

“At noon yesterday, the Port Authorities of Rafina and Markopoulos were informed about an incident of a missing 22-year-old local swimmer in the area of Porto Rafti, Attica. The 22-year-old had gone to Rafti Island in the afternoon on 23/11/2024 to swim and has been missing since then.
The local emergency plan was immediately activated and under the coordination of the Unified Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the LS-EL.AKT., investigations were started by one (01) LS patrol boat (PLS). – EL.AKT., six (06) fishing boats, one (01) private diver, one (01) Navy helicopter, three (03) LS-EL.AKT patrol vehicles. from land, officers of the Civil Protection of the Markopoulos municipality as well as an echelon of the Hellenic Rescue Team (E.O.D.), with negative results.

The investigations continue today by a patrol boat L.S. – EL.AKT., two private boats, one private diver, two LS-EL.AKT helicopters. and a private Drone. Any developments will be announced with a newer press release.”
