A 65-year-old man was arrested, as part of the spontaneous procedure, on Sunday afternoon by police officers of the Racist Violence Department of the Directorate for Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes, for insults, threats, physical harm, crimes committed with racist characteristicsdue to the victim’s sexual orientation.

In particular, according to ELAS, on Saturday morning in his area Kerameikouthe 65-year-old together with another person passing by in a vehicle from where the 27-year-old was with a friend, addressed abusive expressions based on his sexual orientation. Afterwards and while they had driven away with the vehicle, they returned, got out of the vehicle and after approaching the 27-year-old, threatened him and threw him to the ground using physical violence, injuring him in the shoulder.

The Department of Racial Violence that investigated the case, after a combined evaluation of information and evidence, identified and located the 65-year-old, while the investigation continues to locate the other person involved.

The 65-year-old was taken to the Athens District Attorney.
