Bad weather “Bora” continues its advance with messages from 112 ringing out warning residents to move to safe places.
Very high levels of rain have already been recorded in the prefectures of Halkidiki, Imathia, Pella, Lemnos and the island of Rhodes, while the areas that are expected to be significantly affected in the next few hours are:
- Eastern continental and Aegean
- Eastern Thessaly, Pieria, Halkidiki
- Rhodes
Snowfall will continue in the continental mountains and in areas of Western Macedonia with a lower altitude

Rhodes
Rhodes is still on alert today as the bad weather that hit the island last night continues, causing huge damage to the road network, houses, cars and businesses.
The Mayor of Rhodes, Alexandros Koliadis, testified since last night request to the competent Ministry to declare Rhodes in a state of emergency while schools will remain closed tomorrow.
The local authorities make a dramatic appeal to the inhabitants of the island to stay at home for safety while 112 news has been sentas the bad weather continues.

Most of the problems are observed in the villages Pastida, Kremasti, Ialyssos and Maritsawhere the roads became rivers and the fire service received during the night more than 600 calls for water supply and evacuations, as the press representative of the service Vassilis Vathrakogiannis told SKAI.
This morning the civil protection coordinating body met in Rhodes.
As characteristically said by the regional governor, Mr. Hatzimarkos according to Professor Mr. Lekka, what hit Rhodes is a phenomenon 80% similar to Valencia, with more than 300 mm of rainfall.
In at least 6 cases it was necessary extrication of rescuers attempting to extricate civilians under extremely dangerous conditions.
According to Mr. Koliadis, from the next day a committee will be set up that will record the damages for the immediate compensation of the affected and not as was done in the past.
Also, starting tomorrow, Monday, December 2, the platform opens for affected citizens to submit claims for compensation – even for those who were forced to leave their homes.

The island of Limnos has been in a state of emergency for the last few hours as the bad weather BORA is still ongoing. Since its passage, two people have lost their lives while many areas have suffered great damage.
All primary and secondary education and special education schools of the Municipality of Lemnos will remain closed on Monday, December 2, as well as daycare centers throughout the island of Lemnos following the mayor’s decision.
The schools will not operate due to the adverse weather conditions that have occurred on the island, such as rainfall with flooding effects and for the safety of students and teachers. Already the municipality is checking the school buildings especially in the affected areas and there will be a new update on Monday about the operation of the schools in the following days.
A 112 message was sent shortly after 5.30pm to the residents of Lemnos as the Bora storm continues to batter the island. The ban is in effect until noon on Monday.

Closed schools
Schools in Rhodes, Lemnos, Florina as well as throughout the Municipality of Pylaia-Hortiatis due to extreme weather conditions.
The closure concerns all schools of all grades in order to protect the integrity of students and teachers but also to carry out the mandatory assessment of all kinds of damage to the facilities and courtyards of the school units.
Schools of all grades will remain closed tomorrow Kalamaria. The decision not to open the school units throughout the Municipality of Kalamaria is considered imperative according to the municipality, in order to record and restore all the damage caused by the bad weather Bora to the buildings and schoolyards and to take all the necessary measures so that students to return to schools safely.
Also closed in the Municipality Pavlou Mela, all schools (kindergartens, primary schools, high schools, high schools). The decision is taken proactively, in order to assess the condition of buildings, facilities and courtyards for any damage from severe bad weather (falling branches – trees, interruption of water or electricity supply) and to proceed with their restoration where necessary.
Chalcidice
For tomorrow, the operation of all school units of the Municipality is suspended Cassandraat all levels of education, as well as in KDAP and Kindergartens, in order to check the facilities for any flooding phenomena and to ensure the smooth access of students after the severe bad weather affecting the area.
Also closed tomorrow are the Primary and Secondary Education schools, the kindergartens and the KDAP of the Municipality of N. Propontidas due to the severe bad weather that has affected the municipality in several areas.
The primary and secondary education schools, daycare centers and the Municipality’s KDAP are also closed. Polygyrou, where the operation of all educational levels is suspended.
