The unprecedented bad weather that hit the northern part of the island on Saturday night and Sunday caused enormous damage to houses, businesses, cars and infrastructure, with Ialyssos at the center of the destruction.
A traffic ban has been in effect on the island since yesterday, due to the problems in the road network, while kindergartens, primary schools, high schools and high schools of the island will remain closed today Monday.
The municipal units of Myrina, Atsiki and Nea Koutali of Lemnos were also declared in a state of Emergency of Civil Protection, due to the flooding phenomena caused by the bad weather Bora, according to the decision of the general secretary of Civil Protection B. Papageorgiou.
In particular, as stated in an announcement of the general secretariat of Civil Protection, the general secretary decided to declare a state of Emergency of Civil Protection, to manage the consequences (floods) resulting from the occurrence of intense weather phenomena.
