A total of 5-6 bank tellers in Thessaloniki as well as expensive properties of the main suspects in the case of the urban planning ring in Halkidiki were identified and seized by the Money Laundering Authority.
The head of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority, Charalambos Vourliotis, has instructed the banks to check the traffic of these boxes as well as whether there are other co-beneficiaries.
The Money Laundering Authority has already proceeded to freeze the movable and immovable property of all those involved.
The 21 defendants as members of the Halkidiki urban planning ring are being prosecuted – as the case may be – for directing and participating in a criminal organization, bribery and bribery of an employee, for direct cooperation in bribery and money laundering.
Burglary at Sithonia Municipality’s Town Planning – Entry to the manager’s office was breached
A break-in at the Town Planning offices of the Municipality of Sithonia, which is involved in the case of the Town Planners ring, took place on Thursday. A team of police rushed to the scene, in order to carry out an investigation and gather evidence.
“The entrance to the chief’s office was violated,” said mayor Ioannis Mallinis.
In the meantime, Mayor Ioannis Mallinis decided to suspend the Town Planning service of the Municipality of Sithonia until 7/1
The suspension of the construction service (Urban Planning) of the Municipality of Sithonia in terms of serving citizens’ requests from 13/12/2024 to 07/01/2025 was decided by the mayor of Sithonia, Ioannis Mallinis, on the occasion of the case of the 21 arrested for participating in the circle of employees of urban planning services of Halkidiki who are accused of having approved, with the indemnity, unlawful acts and constructions.
In the decision, which was posted on the website of the Municipality, it is stated that the decision was taken, taking into account the provisions of the current legislation and “the special conditions that have been created following the implementation of the audit by the internal affairs service of EL.AS”.
The announcement states in detail:
“The Mayor of Sithonia after taking into account:
1. The provisions of article 86 of the 3463/2006 “On the ratification of the Municipal & Community Code” in combination with the provisions of article 58 of the law. 3852 “New Architecture of Self-Government and Decentralized Administration – Kallikratis Program” (Government Gazette 87/ vol. A/07-06-2010).
2. The provisions of article 94 of the 3852 “New Architecture of Self-Government and Decentralized Administration – Kallikratis Program” (Government Gazette 87/ t. A ́/ 07-06-2010).
3. The Internal Service organization of the Municipality (Government Gazette 4667/B/22.10.2020) as amended and in force
4. The special conditions that have been created following the audit by the internal affairs service of the Hellenic Republic of Greece
