With this new work stoppage, the SELMA workers’ union requests that solutions be found “for very serious contractual and financial outstandings”
The Athens Metro Operators Union (SELMA) will go on strike in the Athens Metro today from 9pm until the end of traffic, affecting lines 2 and 3, while the Electricians have also announced a strike for the same time, i.e. from 21.00 until the end of the shift, affecting line 1.
With this new work stoppage, the SELMA workers’ union is asking for solutions to be found “for very serious contractual and financial outstandings that are lingering and have not been resolved by the competent bodies, as they have committed themselves in writing”.
Also, in their announcement, the workers call for immediate solutions to be found and to ensure the workers, “so that we can provide our services without hindrance and without second thoughts”.
Finally, they request an extension of the DYPA to 220 workers “that have filled functional gaps“, while they also claim financial (unhealthy benefits) and institutional (private security and checkups for employees) demands.
