Nino is a 26-year-old from Volio who lives in Athens. He was a Gymnast Academy graduate and World Rowing Champion and undoubtedly an early standout talent. His rowing journey began in 2014. However, the intensity of training led him to burnout in early 2019, forcing him to take a break from his preparations for the Tokyo Olympics.
As he said before entering Survivor, it will be a “challenge” that he very much wants to live. According to what he said, he wanted to manage the difficult conditions of the game and the behaviors of other players while maintaining the integrity of his character. And apparently, he succeeded!
The difficult period he experienced just before the Tokyo Olympics
Nino talked about the difficult time he experienced years ago when he was part of the national rowing team. He revealed that he was unable to compete in Tokyo in 2021 due to overwork and depression. “I had gone through a difficult period in my life, which has strengthened me a lot and if I hadn’t gone through it, the game would have seemed much more difficult to me. At the beginning of 2019, a year before the Olympics in Tokyo, I get overworked and depressed together. The first symptom of depression is overtiredness. Back then I was competing in the lightweight category and I wasn’t eating anything. “My body shook before the Olympiad and my dreams were shattered…”
Although he received several sharp statements from his teammates, he himself managed to be the big winner of Survivor.
