After their confession, the five Turks who were arrested after a coordinated operation by the police authorities were remanded in custody.

All the defendants denied the accusations against them for distinguished illegal possession and trafficking of weapons, for disposal to third parties and drug trafficking.

One of the defendants who rented the house in Patisia, where the suitcase with the weapons was found, allegedly claimed that “someone gave me the suitcase to kiss for 1,500 euros, (whom he named). I didn’t know what it contained. Then I opened it and saw what was inside. I had the suitcase, I accepted to take it, the other four are unrelatedhe reportedly said.

Two of the five defendants claimed that they do not even smoke and have no connection to drugs. “They gave us the amount of drugs to keep with money” they reportedly argued.

As they said in their apology, they had come a few days ago from Turkey to Greece, asking for political asylum.
