The 41-year-old man, who on Wednesday morning threatened to activate an improvised explosive device out of the Court House of Thessaloniki.
He was imposed the restrictive conditions of the ban on leaving the country and appearing at the police station of the area where he lives, while at the same time a psychiatric examination was ordered and thus, he will be transferred to Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki to assess his psychiatric condition.
According to information from makthes.gr, the arrested person with dual citizenship, both Greek and Irish, had claimed during preliminary investigation that he lives permanently abroad, specifically in England, and came to Greece to meet a relative, however the meeting did not take place. while he then claimed that he would he was visiting his mother who lives in Crete.
Regarding the reason why he arrived at the courts with an explosive device, he does not seem to have given any specific explanation, while it is said that he did not have any involvement with justice.
He has been trained criminal prosecutionand is accused of manufacturing and possession of explosives next to a public assemblyas at that time, people from the broader anti-authoritarian scene had gathered outside the courthouse, as a sign of solidarity with the 109 defendants who were on trial for the incidents in the memorial march for the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos.
He is also accused of threatening, resistance and illegal gun possession because of the replica found in his backpack.
