At arrest of three juveniles which occurred systematically in robberies and grand theft at the expense of elderly people in its areas Piraeusthe Piraeus Crime Prosecution and Investigation Sub-Directorate proceeded in cooperation with the Municipal Theater and Moschato Crime Prosecution and Investigation Departments, as well as the Amfissa Security Department.
The investigation so far revealed the involvement of the above in four cases of robberies and two attempts at houses, as well as two cases of theft, of which one in a house and one on the street in areas of Piraeus.
It is noted that the arrested have previously been of concern to the authorities for committing thefts in houses.
As it emerged from the investigation, after a thorough preliminary investigation and after the exploitation of information and data collection, the members of the organization, at least from the middle of November 2024, formed and operationally joined a structured organization with continuous action and distinct roles for the purpose of carrying out armed of robberies in homes against elderly people, but also distinguished cases of thefts in homes with the aim of gain illegal benefits.
As for their mode of action, the minors, having uncovered their facial features, entered houses, breaking down doors or balcony doors.
Then, at the threat of a knife, air gun or using force, they immobilized their victims or in some cases gagged them with various clothes and then took money, jewelry and mobile phones.
To end their action, a special police team was formed, who identified three of the members of the organization and took them to the headquarters of the Piraeus Crime Investigation and Prosecution Sub-Directorate, where their criminal activity was certified and they were arrested.
A case file was filed against them, which also includes another minor whose details have been identified and is being sought, while -4- people, parents of those involved, are also included for neglecting the supervision of a minor.
In searches carried out in houses, as well as in the possession of the accused, items of clothing worn during the commission of the robberies, as well as mobile phones, were found and confiscated.
