Podpah creators open burger restaurant in SP; see other gastronomic news

The arrival of a new year and the holidays are a good opportunity to explore new places in São Paulo. Discover some restaurants and bars that have opened in recent months to check out.

Barkatu

The new address, with a relaxed atmosphere, is dedicated to Spanish tapas, but created with Asian ingredients, especially Japanese. To try, there are orders such as the chorizo ​​sando breaded in Panko flour, plus KewPie mayonnaise and sesame, accompanied by kimchi (R$ 62; two units). The sakes, some of which are served in a glass, are a highlight to drink.

Orão Bar

A couple from Recife have recently opened a restaurant in Itaim Bibi, which serves bar food with a touch from chef Pedro Guerra, with a stint at Fasano. There are portions of cheese, octopus or meat pastries (R$55) and grilled cuts, such as ancho steak (R$125; 400 g). To drink, the drinks are made by bartender Marlon Silva, at the head of the Drunks bar. He prepares originals such as abelha (R$42), which contains gin with citrus peels, jataí bee honey, lemon and mint.

Rango Brabo Burger

The creators of the Podpah podcast, Igor Cavalari and Thiago Marques, entered the food business and opened a burger restaurant. Comedian Diogo Defante and producer Thais Diegues are partners. The menu has burgers and sandwiches, such as the Diogo Delanche (R$39), with a pepperoni burger, cheese, vinaigrette, crispy onion and mayonnaise on house-made bread.

The Kith

The restaurant, which has the Bib Gourmand seal from the Michelin Guide, has a new menu with the arrival of chef José Guerra, who ran the kitchen at Dalva e Dito. He highlights Brazilian ingredients in the recipes, such as jiló with honey, fennel pickles and miso (R$42) and porchetta with yam puree and guava sauce (R$124).
