Reportage by Makis Synodinos
The Association of Technical Companies of Upper Classes (STEAT) arrived shortly after 12 o’clock the march of the Federation of Builders of Greece, which earlier held a rally in Kaningos Square.
Police forces had lined up outside the STAT, but after negotiations between the builders’ delegation and the STAT president, they withdrew in order not to shed blood and for a constructive discussion, as both sides reported.
The gathering in Kaningos square
The builders claim:
- The signing of collective labor agreements with substantial increases in daily wages and salaries.
- Immediate financial support measures for employees, small businesses and the self-employed in the sector affected by the energy crisis.
- Identification and distribution of “pro unknown” stamps.
In a statement they issued, they call on the government and the competent ministries to take measures to deal with the theft of their insurance, as they typically say, but also to include related specialties (plasterboards, carpenters, etc.) in the heavy and unhealthy professions.
