So far there is no indication of what has happened and the next few hours are considered critical to decisive for the course and outcome of the investigation
Missing for 11 days is still o 39 years old Vasilis Kalogirou, son of the prosecutor dealing with the Tempi case, who mysteriously disappeared after going for a walk on New Year’s Eve, December 30, 2024.
With sonar, drones and dogs, they are eagerly looking for the 39-year-old, who remains missing, in a case that private investigator Giorgos Tsoukalis has characterized as the most mysterious disappearance he has seen – with such a degree of difficulty – in his 35-40 years of career.
Police officers of the Hellenic Police, firefighters of the 8th EMAK, rescuers of the Hellenic Red Cross and volunteers from the Hellenic Rescue and Medical Missions Team of Larisa, are conducting investigations focusing on the Pinios river, where from cameras of shops, it seems that the passage of the missing person has been recorded on the afternoon when his traces were lost.
Also, the police have requested the videotape material from KTEL and him OSE of Larissa, to investigate whether the 39-year-old left the city by bus or train.
The script has resorted to monastery is still on the table, research in this direction is also continuing but with difficulties as the “bare” applies.
Teams of the EMAK “comb” the area surrounding Pinios and also the river bed – where the missing man was last seen – but no trace of the 39-year-old has been found anywhere.
So far there is no indication of what has happened and the next few hours are considered critical to decisive for the course and outcome of the investigation.
It is recalled that the 39-year-old is the son of the First Instance prosecutor who has dealt with the Tempi case. Specifically, she is the Larissa District Attorney, who has brought criminal proceedings against the former regional governor of Thessaly, Kostas Agorastos, for breach of duty in the Tempi case.
The prosecution in question is not about the Tempe crime per se and the head-on train collision, but the fact that the accident scene was covered up.
“No question of abduction – Maybe he was in the wrong place at the wrong time”
In response to a question about whether a kidnapping scenario is being considered, speaking to SKAI yesterday, Mr. Tsoukalis answered in the negative.
As he said:
“One scenario is that she was found wrong time at the wrong placethat is, a witness in an illegal case. He is a highly empathetic person, he wouldn’t blow the whistle indifferently if he saw a fight, a rape or an assault.
A second scenario being considered is that something happened accident. Of course, we have to put everything in the equation and have it in the back of our minds to be able to do the research as best we can.”
Finally, he emphasized that the family has no reason to believe that the 39-year-old he left voluntarilywhich he also agrees with.
“Vasilis is very close to his family, he had no reason to do this. The contacts, incoming and outgoing, on his mobile phone were to his family, his circle of friends and the schools where he works in Kastoria. Vassilis left the house in a good mood, we have to say that.”
