Two drivers sat on the bench of the Single-Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki after both sides sued for an incident between them in the middle of the road, in the area of ​​Kordelios. On the one hand, it is about a 44-year-old who was driving a car. car and on the other hand for a 33-year-old taxi driver. The first was sentenced to 24 months in prison, which was converted into 10 euros per day, while the second was acquitted.

More specifically, the 44-year-old was found guilty by the court of dangerous bodily harm, insult and threat. On the contrary, the 33-year-old taxi driver was acquitted of the act of bodily harm, and as regards the acts of insult and damage to foreign property, he was acquitted on formal grounds (due to the lack of the required evidence in the lawsuit filed against him by the 44-year-old).

In their statements to the court each described their own perspective on the incident.

According to the taxi driver, the incident began when he stopped with an alarm on the side of the road to pick up a customer, making room for the 44-year-old, who was behind him and driving nervously, to pass in his car. “He stopped next to me and I said to him through the window “come on sir” and then he started the bundies“, he said with tears in his eyes and with visible scars on his face from the blows he received. “I ate merciless wood without having time to do anything. I was trying to avoid the hits and call for help on the radio,” he added.

From his side. the 44-year-old convict stated that he was driving normally with his minor daughter with him and at some point he noticed the taxi speeding out of an alley. “I pulled over and waited, the taxi suddenly braked in front of me and started a series of dangerous maneuvers, without using flashers or alarms. My child hit his head on the dashboard from braking. I stopped next to him and asked him “how do you drive like that”. He went down and attacked me in the stomach” he apologized, among other things, while when asked about the injuries on the face of the taxi driver, he claimed that they were caused by his fall to the ground.
