A traffic accident with a motorcyclist victim occurred on Saturday afternoon, after a police chase in Nea Peramos.

According to information, the motorcycle driver, who was traveling in P.E.O. Athens-Corinth in the direction of Corinth, did not stop at the police signal for control. The police then started the pursuit, with the driver of the machine entering the opposite traffic stream and colliding with a moving vehicle, resulting in his fatal injury.

According to an announcement by the Hellenic Police, an administrative investigation has been ordered by the General Police Directorate of Attica in order to establish any disciplinary responsibilities of the police officers.

Today, Saturday 18 January 2025 at 15:20 at the 30th km. of P.E.O. Athens-Corinth in Nea Peramos, a motorcycle with a rider received a signal from police officers of the Direct Action Directorate, in order to carry out a check on him.

According to the police, in his attempt to avoid the control, the driver of the motorcycle started to move and tried to drag the co-driver of the police crew, who had got out and was on foot next to the patrol car, in order to control him.

Then, in order to escape, the driver entered the opposite traffic stream and collided with a moving vehicle, resulting in his fatal injury.

The competent prosecutor was immediately informed about the incident, the driver of the vehicle was arrested, a case was filed against him and he was then released with a verbal order.

At the same time, an administrative investigation has been ordered by the General Police Directorate of Attica in order to establish any disciplinary responsibilities of the police officers.
