Dozens of dolphin dead or dying were going to a beach in Somalia, residents and authorities of the country also announced in the African horn.

According to eyewitnesses, at least 100 marine mammals exit yesterday, Thursday, on a beach between the port of Bosaso and Mareeko beach in the southern Pudland region.

“The Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Fisheries are working together to urgently investigate this unusual incident,” The regional government has announced a promising official report on the possible causes.

The exact number of dolphins was not confirmed, the regional authorities clarified, adding that “Residents of the area estimate that about a hundred dolphins were going to the coast.”

In a message he posted on Facebook today, the Pudland Ministry of the Environment announced that the residents were able to save a rose dolphin and put them back into the water.

“The number of dolphins that exacerbated the shore reaches 140 and most of them are dead, though some are still in life,” said an eyewitness, Aboulachi Musa.

“It’s a horrible incident, we’ve never been seen so far.”he added.

Other eyewitnesses reported similar numbers.

According to the Ministry of the Environment, the incident may be due to nets of illegal fishing and water contamination.
