The KKE announced the deaths of the veteran fighter of the resistance of Pota Kakkava, who passed away on Saturday, full days at the age of 93.

“Comrade Pota, has developed a pioneering racing action from her childhood years, and even through the KKE lines, experiencing the cruelty and persecution of the bourgeois state, with years of imprisonment and exile, from which he came out of the KKE.” Its announcement and adds:

“In 1948, a student was still sentenced to death by the Tripoli Extraordinary Military Court, along with other women, as responsible for the operation of KKE party organizations in the city of Kalamata. He was then banished to Chios, Trikeri, Makronisos, Averoff prisons. In the following years, with her release, she re -developed a rich and pioneering racing action, especially in the Messinia areas, for which she was “rewarded” with a second round of reservation and displacements by the dictatorship of the Colonels, as in the early hours of her enforcement. He was arrested and exiled to Gyros.

With the fall of the junta, Comrade Pota contributed decisively, as a member of the Prefectural Committee of Messinia, to the reconstruction of the KKE organizations and its de facto legalization.

At the crucial moments of counter -revolutionary reversals and the crisis in the KKE, in the years 1989 – 1991, he opposed the attempt to dismantle the party and made a decisive contribution to his subsequent career.

With its attitude and action, the Comrade Pot honored the title of KKE member and executive, acting through its lines, until its last breath, in Messinia organizations, faithful to the struggle for a human -free society by man by man . She was distinguished for her ties with a large part of the city’s popular people and her militancy.
