Today the whole of Greece, but also countries abroad”they flooded» from citizens who held rallies following the call of the Association of Relatives of Tempo Victims, who demand an immediate investigation into the causes of the tragedy and justice.

The case of Tempi continues to be investigated by the special appellate investigator of Larissa who has requested a series of investigative actions.

The 5 pending research:

The first one concerns the investigation requested by the NTUA in order to determine the cause of the explosion and fire that occurred immediately after the collision of the two trains.

According to the report of Yannis Souliotis in SKAI, initially a deadline of 2 months was given for the conclusion. The last chemical analyzes were done on December 16 and 19 and it is estimated that the result will be given in the next period.

The second point of the investigation, it concerns the audios that have been included in the case file as there were complaints that a crucial 11 minutes had been removed. For this reason, a comparison was made between the audio file kept at the OSE in Athens and the corresponding one kept at the OSE Larissa. This process has been completed and the results were communicated to the responsible investigator last Friday.

The third investigation that has been ongoing for several months regarding the cargo of the commercial train. However, there is no optimism for clear results, because the hard drive from the commercial station of Thessaloniki was given to the forensic laboratories 20 months late. So it is possible that the material cannot be recovered.

The fourth pending concerns a request submitted by 8 victims’ families for an upgrade of the indictment against two Hellenic Train defendants, who are facing misdemeanor charges. The relatives are asking for their prosecution in the degree of felony, as 41 other defendants are also being prosecuted.

The fifth pending concerns the apologies of officials of the Ministry of Transport expected on January 30 and February 16, respectively
