A new, state -of -the -art control center for the management of energy production from its ever -increasing portfolio of wind, photovoltaic and hydroelectric works PPC to Romania He was inaugurated today in Bucharest in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Energy, local officials, and company executives from Romania and Greece.

The installed power of the green energy plants managed by PPC renewables in Romania is constantly increasing as the development of RES in the country, both organically and through partnerships, is proceeding dynamically, and already the PPC Group’s installed power in the country has doubled.

Today, the PPC Group is in operation in Romania 23 winds, photovoltaic and hydroelectric projects as well as batteries storage units, with a total installed power of 1.3 GW and is now the largest RES energy producer in Romania.

The new PPC Renewable Control Center can perform in real time the commands it receives from the electricity system manager and manage a large volume of installations effectively and directly despite the stochasticity that characterizes RES energy production. Therefore, the company’s power plants can quickly respond to the orders they receive from the local or central dispatchers of the energy transmission network. The capabilities of the Center were submitted and PPC’s Dispatchers Renewable in Romania received the relevant permission from the National Electricity System Manager.

The General Manager of PPC Renewables in Romania, Mr. Adrian dugulanstated:

“The installed power of PPC Romania’s wind and photovoltaic parks is increasing and therefore we have inaugurated a new control center, with increased data capacity, which can ensure the effective management of electricity production, taking into account the relatively long geographical distances. in which the parks are located. In this way, we are helping to develop a sustainable energy industry in Romania, supporting economic competitiveness. “

For his part, the General Manager of PPC Renewable RES projects, Angelos Kassimis, stressed:

“Today is a special day for the PPC Group. The new, state -of -the -art control center we are launching in Romania is a crucial crossroads for the management of the largest renewable energy portfolio in Southeast Europe. It reflects our commitment to modern technological infrastructure, and is a key arm of a large RES production transformation program, relying on the three main pillars of digitization, deceit and decentralized production. “

PPC Group expands its presence in Southeast Europe

The PPC Group is moving forward with the development of new RES projects, as new winds and photovoltaics are constantly added to the existing projects of the company, which have already reached approximately 5.5 GW. Of these, 1.3 GW are in Romania.

According to the three -year strategic plan, by 2027, the PPC Group will develop an additional 6.3 GW of RES in Greece and the wider region of Southeast Europe, with the aim of raising RES to reach 11.8 GW in 2027. , today, over 60% of the RES to be added are in the construction phase or ready to construct.

PPC’s strategic plan includes entering new markets such as Italy, Bulgaria and Croatia, that is, neighboring countries with existing links. Italy and Croatia are particularly important markets due to their interconnection potential and significant potential in the RES. The two new photovoltaic parks added recently to Italy are part of this plan.

The main arms of the PPC Group Portfolio is 100% PPC Renewable. PPC renewables invests in the power of nature, through the production of energy by RES and energy storage. In addition to the large photovoltaic and wind projects it manufactures, the company innovates in the Southeast European market through projects that cover the full range of renewable energy (wind, sun, water, geothermal and biomass).
