The ability to provide consent, through Gov.gr, to provide data, with the aim of concluding a contract and changing electricity and gas providers and gas, have today.

This service accelerates a number of processes, greatly facilitates the daily lives of citizens, even limits digital bureaucracy and favors competition in the energy market.

The new digital service was implemented in the context of the cooperation of the Ministers of Environment and Energy, Theodoros Skylakakis and Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, as well as the Deputy Ministers of National Economy and Finance, Thanos Petralia and Christos Dimas and the Environment and Energy.

It is emphasized that this is not a separate application, but a service available through gov.gr. It is the second consent given through Gov.gr, implemented by the Ministry of Digital Governance, with the aim of further modernizing public administration and easy and friendly citizens’ service.

It is recalled that citizens can already provide their consent to digital pumping and disposing of their data for the conclusion of a car insurance policy.

In the coming period the data review and consent will also be given by push notification to Gov.gr Wallet, the digital wallet, further facilitating the procedures for citizens.

Specifically, for the conclusion of a new contract or the change of electricity provider and/or gas, citizens follow the following steps.

  • They visit the physical or online store, select the product they wish and request the start of the contract or change of provider.
  • Subsequently, either by redirecting the provider’s digital environment or with a personalized link given by the provider, they enter the new Gov.gr online service using TAXISnet codes and disposable code sent to them on the certified mobile in the National Register of Communication (EMP).
  • The necessary elements of citizens are derived from the registers kept. Following their overview, the citizens give their conservation to transmit the data to the provider.
  • The procedure is completed in the provider’s environment with the signature of the contract, which citizens can receive electronically, as well as sign it using digital signature.

It is noted that within the framework of the Consent, identification information, contact details as registered in the National Communication Registry, VAT ID and IOs, Property Directorate, as well as data confirming the relationship (privately owned, leased or granted). Soon this will be evidenced by the Electronic Delivery Identification Code (EKASP) for the case of a natural gas supply.
