For inventions and industrial designs were awarded yesterday eight students by the Minister of Development and Investment Adoni Georgiadi in a special ceremony held at the Institute for Biomedical Research of the Academy of Athens (IIBEAA).
THE initiative took place in the context of Educational Program offered by Industrial Property Organization (OBI) since 2007 to students of 5th and 6th grade of Primary School.
THE Minister for Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis, noted the following: “The Industrial Property Organization is an important property of the Greek people, for the protection of Industrial Property and the motivation of ingenuity and modernity.
These concepts succeed and connect children from a very young age with all these values, with all this mentality, which only great profit can bring to this country.
THE Hellas that we want, this is exactly Greece. The Greece of progress, the Greece of ingenuity, the Greece of creation. In the modern world we live in, it seems that young people, the new generation, seem to acquire talents and skills that for us older people seem very difficult.
As time changes so rapidly, we older ones adapt with greater difficulty, while the younger ones can and do draw on talents and skills that are very impressive to us.
Today’s initiative it’s really commendable, because it gives space and shows our children how to connect with this new world of ingenuity. “
In his speech, the General Director of OBI, Panagiotis Kanellopoulos, stated: “At OBI we know very well that education and research have a dynamically evolving character.
The educational programme of OBI aims to introduce young students with small and steady steps in the Knowledge Economy that provides a growth model, creating perspective and inspiration.
Our goal is to stimulate their creativity. We congratulate the curiosity, the imagination, the competition, expecting young researchers, inventors, industrial designers, successful future entrepreneurs who respond with authentic ideas to modern obligations and create prospects and a ground of opportunities for individual growth and success “.
